a world of thanks
At six-foot-three, Tim Dondero's height, fair complexion, and blue eyes made him an anomaly in Malaysia, where the family lived for nearly eight years while he was stationed there. Dondero smilingly recalls all the freshly picked bananas and avocados he ate from the street markets. "Malaysia is a great place to eat," he says, explaining in a single breath how to make dim sum, a collection of savory steamed dumplings, cakes, and fried snacks, and where to find the best restaurant in Asia that serves it. His family admires Dondero's ability to call up meals
from memory.
