Classic Style with David Denham

By his own admission, David Denham has always had a sense of style. “I’ve always had a thing for well-made clothing,” Denham says with a grin. ‘”I will admit that.” But it wasn’t until 2015, that the University of Georgia graduate and former member of the 2005 National Championship Georgia Golf team decided to start his own line.

“I saw a need and wanted to create menswear, with a focus on golf attire, that was both stylish and comfortable,” Denham says. “Something that could transition from the golf course to the boardroom.”

An investment advisor by day, Denham launched The Dapper Dog, as an after hours part-time gig in early 2016. After spending his days helping others with their investments, Denham and his wife, Catherine, would spend their evenings looking at fabric samples, designs and sourcing. “I had no idea what we were really getting into. It was a huge learning curve and we’re still learning,” he admits.

Today, Denham remains a one-man (and woman) show. “It’s definitely challenging, but fun,” he says. The Dapper line now features hats, golf shirts, t-shirts and recently, dog leashes.

“We definitely have plans for expansion of the line, but want to remain focused on our core pieces.”
