The Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) has created a vast catalogue of online offerings suitable for all ages, many of which focus on social and political justice.

A new lineup of free courses, “Architecture & Urbanism for Justice,” was created for those looking to incorporate more equitable practices into these fields—and those simply interested in the subject. Classes take place every other Monday from 6:30-8:30 pm, starting on September 21. The lineup is as follows:

• Sept. 21: Intro to Design Justice
• Oct. 5: Designing a Just City
• Oct. 19: Peacemaking and Spaces for Justice
• Nov. 2: Tactical Urbanism
• Nov. 16: Native/Indigenous Design
• Nov. 30: Design with Dignity

Also of note is MODA’s newest virtual exhibit, “The Design of Dissent.” This showcase creates a conversation around works that address social and political concerns in the U.S. and abroad.

Posters featured in the exhibit were chosen by renowned graphic designers Milton Glaser and Mirko Ilic; other were commissioned by Amplifier.org, a design lab that uses art to intensify the voices in grassroots movements.

Also on virtual display is “Learning From Nature: The Future of Design,” which shows how designers have incorporated sustainability into their pieces by using nature as their inspiration.

Additional workshops and classes include “Design RE Climate Change,” a series of interviews with designers focusing on raising awareness about climate change, “Drink in Design,” which visits creatives in their homes to discuss the changing nature of the world, and “Earth Guardians,” in which young adults discuss today’s social, political and environmental issues.
