A Home in Tune

Rebecca and Adam Stroup share a love of art and music.

The couple, both natives of Augusta, moved to the Athens area in 2019 with Adam’s job. They initially lived in Normaltown but when it came time to build their forever home they settled in the quaint town of Winterville.

“We absolutely love it here,” said Rebecca. “We can walk to the Saturday market and everyone is so warm and friendly. It’s the perfect place to raise our daughter.”

The spacious home is situated on a 5-acre wooded lot providing ample privacy while remaining close to town.

Throughout the Stroup home, the neutral toned walls are adorned with colorful works of art – primarily from Augusta-based artists as they remind the couple of home.

“Art and music are our passions, which  I guess is obvious,” Rebecca said with a laugh. In addition to art, a variety of guitars are displayed throughout their home.

The open concept kitchen and living room area allows for ease when entertaining, which happens quite often since the arrival of daughter, Mia.

“We have lots of family in and out constantly to see Mia and it’s really nice for everyone to have their own space,” Rebecca explained.

The basement, complete with exposed duct work, a cemet feature wall and 9-foot ceilings, has an urban industrial feel. A pool table is the focal point of the space, along with more guitars and amps. The space also has a nook for the couple’s gym equipment.

The Stroups added a guest room and bath to the basement so that their company could maintain their privacy while visiting.

“We really love it here,” Rebecca said. “It’s exactly what we wanted and I know we’re going to make tons of memories here.”
