AthFest 2022

AthFest returns this year June 24–26. The free, three-day festival celebrates everything Athens from music to art while raising money to support music and arts education for local K-12 students! Jam throughout the day with three outdoor stages playing live music, enjoy a block-long Artist Market, along with various food and retail vendors. There is even a KidsFest area where the young ones can get in on all the fun too!

The Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation is hosting the Georgia Watercolor Society’s 43rd Juried National Exhibition until June 3. Free and open to the public, the exhibition features 80 paintings from nationally and internationally known watermedia artists from across the country.
This year the exhibition is juried by Mark E. Mehaffey, an internationally recognized artist and member of a numerous art societies.

Classic Center Arena

Opening in November 2023, the Classic Center Arena is set to be Northeast Georgia’s newest event facility. Announced in April, the arena will have 5,500 permanent seats and a maxiumum capacity of 8,500, able to accomodate any event from sports tournaments to concerts. It is expected to create over 600 jobs and generate over $33 million in economic impact.
